Day 3. Higginsville, Missouri. As we approached our destination, we hesitantly took a wide left turn onto the first tiny little gravel road we’d ever encountered while pulling our 43ft, 20k pound “house on wheels”.

But as the asphalt disappeared behind us, so did our worries. We were suddenly surrounded by 75 acres of shimmering lakes, wide open grass fields and white picket fences. The vineyards danced in the breeze as we slowly made our way down the well maintained gravel drive.

We were in awe… like a couple of wide-eyed children, taking in the views of some magical, unexplored territory.

Another spacious & level lot was awaiting us, courtesy of our third Harvest Hosts partner, Arcadian Moon Winery & Brewery. I backed our rig beneath the shade of a conveniently large oak tree as AK guided me via walkie-talkie. Ah. The perfect boondocking spot for a peaceful night’s rest.

Before retiring for the night, we spent the evening on their deck, overlooking the lake and enjoying a juicy burger, wood fired pizza, home-cut fries and ice-cold drinks.
