Desert Hawk Golf Course

Since Colorado Springs didn’t work out for us, Albuquerque, New Mexico was now calling our name! Why? Let’s just say I had a craving for some Los Pollos Hermanos. The chaos of the day before had caused us to go to bed and wake up a lot later than usual and Albuquerque was a good 6 hours away. So, we decided a short trip to another Harvest Hosts partner would be our best bet.

What’s Havest Hosts? It’s an awesome paid membership program that enables RVers to stay overnight on various “host” properties for FREE! Wineries, breweries, farms, museums, golf courses, etc. They all welcome us with open arms and a spot to park our rig for the night! This is the first membership we bought before moving into our rig full time and it literally paid for itself within the first week! Use our referral link HERE and you’ll get 15% OFF your membership PLUS you’ll help support ATSWG by earning us a sweet commission!

Desert Hawk Golf Course in Pueblo West, CO was only about an hour south of Colorado Springs, so we gave them a call and they told us to come on down! Sweet! We packed up and took off.

After only a few miles the landscape around us began to transform into a desert/mountain hybrid that we’d only seen in movies and on TV! We could finally tell we were entering a part of the country we’d never been to before… and it was awesome. Woo hoo!

We arrived at Desert Hawk Golf Course and turned into a wide open dirt lot with plenty of room to position the rig however we wanted. There was even a nice lake directly across from us with a concrete walking path. After leveling and setting up for the night, we enjoyed an awesome dinner at the onsite cafe and then spent the rest of the evening binge watching some Lost.

Thanks for the awesome night Desert Hawk Golf Course 🙏
