Our Purchases: RV Living

In preparation for living, working and staying healthy on the road, I spent countless hours researching, comparing, ordering, troubleshooting, testing and returning products. It was literally my part time job for almost half a year. And to this day our arsenal of "stuff" continues to evolve as we spend more and more time on the move.

If you'd like to benefit from all of my sweat, blood and due-diligent tears, here's your chance.

On this page you'll find almost every single item we've ever purchased that relates to RV Living.

If it's here, that means we were satisfied with it and it ended up being useful in some way.

If it didn't really work for us, or it downright sucked, you won't see it here.

From one-off cool little knick knacks (like these embroidered Abarth seat-belt cushions) to full blown project master part lists (like the ones here) everything on this page has our stamp of approval.

Plus, any time you actually click a link and make a purchase, you're helping to support ATSWG by earning us a sweet commission!

Win. Win. Win. - Michael Gary Scott

(NOTE: This list is a constant WORK IN PROGRESS so if you don't see what you're looking for, have specific questions, or even find a link that's no longer working, feel free to shoot us an email at atswego@gmail.com or submit a message HERE and we'll get back with you as soon as we can.)

Portable 600 Amp Jump Starters

View at Walmart

EverStart 600 Peak Amp Lithium-Ion Jump Starters

We keep two of these in the truck (just because we had extras from old vehicles). If our dual truck batteries are a bit too weak, one of these attached to each gives us a slight chance to start without needing a jumper vehicle. If the truck batteries get super low though, these are useless.

Portable 1000 Amp Jump Starter

View at Tractor Supply

Schumacher 1000 Peak Amp Lithium Ion Jump Starter

We keep this in the Fiat. If the car battery gets too low, this allows us to start without needing a jumper vehicle. We’ve used it many times in colder weather and it works great.

View on Amazon

Milton 1/4″ FNPT Extended Reach Dual Head Air Chuck

View on Amazon

Waterless Wash Deluxe Pole Kit

View on Amazon

Waterless WashWaxAll Mop with Deluxe Pole Kit and Bug Scrubber/Mini Mop

This was the first kit we tried using for keeping the rig clean. While waterless cleaning was great for removing light dirt, we’re often much dirtier before we get around to cleaning, so we rarely use the WashWaxAll solution. We do use the pole and mop head at every wash though, mostly when using soap and water.

Cordless Leaf Blower

View on Amazon

BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Sweeper with Power Boost

We use this for blowing out the rear garage when the ramp is down. We also use it for clearing off the roof and under our slide toppers on travel days and for clearing out the bed of the truck.

View The FuelBox

FuelBox Combo Fuel Tank & Tool Box with Transfer Pump

This holds enough gas to fill up both our 30 gallon generator tank and 30 gallon aux tank on the RV. With all three gas tanks filled we have a total capacity of 120 gallons, which can last us a good week while boondocking in the high 90’s and up to a month or more in cooler weather. The onboard pump and hose allow us to easily fill the tanks and even the Fiat if needed.

Disposable Shop Towels

View on Amazon

Scott Blue Disposable Shop Towels

We primariliy use these outside for cleaning up grease, liquids, oils and other substantial messes. These are strong and very absorbant.

100ft 10-Amp Extension Cord

View on Amazon

100′ Outdoor 10-Amp Extension Cord

This is our general purpose extension. We carry this in the truck as it can be used with the built-in 400 watt AC outlet. We also use this if we ever need to connect either the truck or the Fiat trickle chargers to the RV to maintain their batteries.
